The Chair plays an essential role in optimising the effectiveness of the board as a whole. This includes reviewing the composition of the board and working with the Nominations and Remuneration Committee to ensure that the board has the right mix of skills, diversity of thought and experience. As the leader of the board, the Chair sets the tone and has a significant influence on behaviours, decision making processes and dynamics in general. They also have an influence on the induction, development and effectiveness of individual directors.
This interactive online discussion, in the form of a Chairs roundtable, will explore all these issues and share good practice approaches a Chair can take to create and develop a strategically focused and well-functioning board team.
