Mark Beeston is a 30 year+ veteran of financial markets and is Managing Partner and
founder of Illuminate Financial Management, a venture capital firm focussed on financial
services technology currently investing from its third fund and which currently lists nine
strategic partner LP’s drawn from the largest global names in banking, finance and markets
infrastructure.

Mark launched the firm in 2014 following a long career in capital markets where he had been
both the consumer of financial markets technology as well as the entrepreneur (T-Zero /
Creditex), operator (ICAP), and early stage funder of capital markets businesses.

Prior to founding Illuminate, Mark was the CEO for the Post Trade Risk and Information
business and Exco Member at ICAP (now Osttra, a CME and S&P Global JV) where he also
oversaw the creation of ICAP’s own investment subsidiary. Before ICAP Mark was President
of T-Zero, a credit derivatives trade processing platform (now ICELink) launched during his
time on the Exco of Creditex resulting in the successful acquisition of the group by ICE in
2008. Mark started his career with 13 years at Deutsche Bank in derivatives trading and
management, including periods as COO for both the Global Rates and Global Credit
businesses following an extensive period of running various Fixed Income derivative trading
businesses. Mark has an undergraduate degree from the London School of Economics and
Political Science (LSE).

When not focused on financial technology Mark can usually be found in some way indulging
his passion for all things automotive.

Eu-Lin leads the Sustainability & Climate Change practice across PwC Singapore, drives the PwC Asia Pac Centre for Sustainability Excellence based in Singapore and is a member of global sustainability leadership teams at PwC. She is also the Asia Pacific Sustainable Finance Leader. Prior to assuming the Sustainability & Climate Change practice head role at PwC Singapore in 2016, she was a financial services specialist partner. She supports organisations in the real economy and financial sector across a range of sustainability priorities which include decarbonisation, climate and nature risk, reporting, assurance, sustainable supply chains, social, and financial services.

Eu-Lin graduated with a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School. As a practicing Singapore Chartered Accountant, she believes that accountants can play an important role in fighting climate change and advancing sustainability in business and in the community.

She serves on a board and a committee under the Ministry of Sustainability and Environment, and serves on the ACRA-SGX Regco Sustainability Reporting Advisory Committee and MAS Corporate Governance Advisory Committee. She is the Chairman of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants Sustainability Committee which supports in capacity building, technical review of sustainability reporting standards and engaging the accounting community on emerging sustainability issues. She also serves on boards of education and healthcare institutes in the public sector.

Shai is the Global Leader for WTW’s Executive Compensation & Board Advisory
business. He leads a team of over 450 exceptional consultants, across 45 countries,
who are trusted advisors to clients on issues related to board and executive
compensation, performance management and incentives, board effectiveness,
organisation design, culture transformation, and human-capital governance.

Based in Singapore, Shai has extensive experience working closely with the Boards
and management teams of some of the largest companies in Asia Pacific and globally.
He is a trusted advisor to more than a hundred Boards, Remuneration Committees,
Nomination Committees, and Sustainability Committees.

Shai is a member of the Governing Board of the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID)
and chairs its ESG Committee. He is faculty member at NED associations in the region
– and teaches courses related on Remuneration, Nomination, Talent Management,
and ESG matters.
He is a Senior Accredited Director and serves on the boards of leading companies and
not-for-profits in the region and chairs the Compensation, Nominations, and
Sustainability committees. He is a member of the Global Governing Board of Climate
Governance Initiative (CGI), as well as the World Economic Forum’s (WEF’s) Climate
Governance Global Community of Experts.

John Gollifer, joined the GCC Board Directors Institute (GCC BDI) as Chief Executive Officer on 15 November 2023.

John was General Manager of the Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA) from January 2019 to 14 November 2023 where he led MEIRA’s development and growth as the go-to professional body for Investor Relations (IR) in the region. Prior to that, he led the UK’s IR Society from 2012 to 2018. In both roles, John was responsible for spearheading partnerships with other independent, not-for-profit organisations, including GCC BDI. John led IR training for the International Certificate in IR in the Middle East and prior to this, in Chile, Indonesia, Japan, Nigeria, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey and the UK. From 2016 to 2018, John lectured at the University of Liverpool in London on the MSc. in Strategic Communication for the IR module which he created. In 2018, John was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the UK’s IR Society in recognition of his services to IR.

John spent 11 years at the Singapore Exchange where he was Senior Vice President and responsible for investor relations, among other roles in corporate strategy and communications. He established and ran the IR Professionals Association of Singapore from 2006 to 2008, is a multiple IR award winner and created and taught an IR course at the Singapore Management University from 2009 to 2012.

John was trained as a banker and spent 15 years from 1985 to 2000 in Asia and Europe in corporate finance and equity capital markets. He worked for: Barclays Bank as International Manager; Hoare Govett Asia as Senior Manager and Head of Corporate Finance; ABN Amro Rothschild as Assistant Director - Equity Capital Markets, Asia; and at BNP Paribas as Director - Equity Capital Markets, Asia and Australasia.

John has a BA (Hons) degree from Loughborough University, UK, the International Certificate in IR, Diplomas in Banking (ACIB) and Marketing (ACIM) and MBA degree from Henley Business School, UK. John has lived and worked in Dubai, Geneva, Hong Kong, Jakarta, London and Singapore. He is married and has 5 children and 3 grand-children.

Mr Koh Jin Hoe is Executive Director and Head of Capital Markets in Global
Sales and Origination at SGX Group. He is responsible for capital market
deals origination as well as business and relationship management with
senior clients.

Jin Hoe joined SGX Group in June 2022. Prior to that, he spent 24 years in
various senior roles in the Singapore Public Service. He was last Senior Vice
President and Head, Asia Pacific and Greater China at the Singapore
Economic Development Board (EDB). In that role, he was responsible for
formulating policies, developing strategies and executing the operational
plans to attract Asian conglomerates and Asian enterprises to Singapore.
Jin Hoe joined EDB in June 1998 and has held various portfolios within EDB,
ranging from manpower capabilities and industry development to global
operations with stints in Stockholm and Shanghai. He was also Director of
Contact Singapore from 2011 to 2016, where he was responsible for the
investor permanent resident (PR) scheme - Global Investor Programme
(GIP).

Jin Hoe graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a
Bachelor of Engineering degree.

He was conferred the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in August 2017
and the Long Service Medal in August 2021.

As General Counsel, Mdm Looi Lee Hwa oversees legal compliance, corporate governance and corporate secretariate matters, and provides strategic legal guidance to the Group.

Mdm Looi brings a wealth of experience in corporate law, regulatory matters, mergers and acquisitions, capital market fundraising, and resolving commercial disputes. She is a highly accomplished professional with over three decades of experience spanning multiple industries, including energy and renewables, liner shipping, manufacturing, and oil & gas. Prior to joining Seatrium, she held senior positions as Group General Counsel in several major companies, including Sembcorp Industries Ltd, Neptune Orient Lines Ltd, and Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing. Her legal expertise and extensive experience make her a valuable asset in ensuring the legal and regulatory aspects of Seatrium’s operations are well-managed and in compliance with relevant laws and standards.

Mdm Looi holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from the National University of Singapore and is admitted to the Bar as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.

Currently, Mr Kuik is the President of the Association of Singapore Marine Industries (ASMI). He also serves as a distinguished member within several influential industrial councils and esteemed educational institution committees. Notably, he contributes his expertise to the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF).

Mr Kuik holds a Bachelor of Engineering (First Class Honors) in Naval Architecture and Marine Technology from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England. Foong Chong Lek leads the team that engages with Family Offices, with a
goal to build a vibrant Singapore capital market that is relevant to the needs
of Family Offices. He also collaborates with Private Banks on bespoke
events targeted at the Family Office segment.

This includes identifying and promoting SGX Equities, Fixed Income,
Currency and Commodity products that could benefit SGX listed companies,
Family Offices and Private Banks. He also manages the SGX Corporate /
Investor Access calendar.

His work scope also includes origination for new listings in the Mineral, Oil
and Gas (“MOG”, which comprises exploration, development and
production) sector, and previously Biotech, Medtech and Renewables &
Energy. He has previously covered Australia, Indonesia, Myanmar and
Saudi markets for all sectors.

He started his career in Procter & Gamble where he was Liquids Technology
Leader. He has also held positions in RHB Private Equity as Senior Manager
and Springboard-Harper Investments (VC) as Investment Analyst.
He graduated from Purdue University, USA, with a Bachelor of Science in

Massimo Massa is the Rothschild Chaired Professor of Banking and Professor of Finance at INSEAD, where he teaches international finance, corporate finance, asset management, behavioral finance and governance in MBA, EMBA, PhD and Executive programs. At INSEAD, Dr. Massa co-directs the Hoffman Fund for research in ownership and family firms. Dr. Massa has been consultant with several companies on strategic issues related to governance and corporate financial and growth strategies. He is the programme director of the Advanced Asset Management Programme, Interalpha Banking Programme and of the Master in Finance. He co-directs the International Directors Programme as well as Value Creation for Owners and Directors and has directed several programs for corporations and banks, including Abn Amro, Maybank, Société Générale, FinecoBank, Technip, Mubadala, and Bertelsmann. Dr. Massa’s research has been quoted and discussed in major magazines and newspapers (The Economist, BusinessWeek, New York Times, Wall Street Journal) as well as professional Journals (Creditflux, Journal of Trading) and Forums (Harvard Law Forum, Notre Dame Law Forum). Adjunct Professor Aziz Merchant, is a leading international ship & offshore designer and expert. He has over 25 years’ extensive experience of worldwide offshore oil and gas development in the areas of concept design, basic design, detail engineering, project management and engineering company startups. Project experience has covered oil and gas field development concept study and selection, pre-FEED and FEED engineering and basic & detail design engineering. He is the Executive Director of Keppel Marine & Deepwater Technology Pte Ltd which is the commercialization arms of Keppel Offshore and Marine which specialize in deepwater offshore designs, LNG Carriers, marine support & maintenance vessels respectively. He has about 20 international scientific patents granted or filed under his name.

Aziz Merchant is an Adjunct Professor at the National University of Singapore since 2014. He is the industry PI as well as the Co- Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Keppel-NUS Corporate Laboratory formed in 2014. He is also an industry PI on Additive Manufacturing at Singapore Centre for 3D Printing at Nanyang Technological University. He is also a member of the President Technology Award selection committee since 2015.He has also been recognized by industries for his unwavering drive for innovation. He received the Singapore Maritime Port Authority (MPA) Outstanding Maritime R&D & Technology Award in 2008 & 2015 and the Institute of Engineers Singapore Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards 2009, 2013, 2016 & 2018. He has also received the ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Awards in 2009 & 2018.

With more than 19 years of experience in Seatrium, Mr Murthy has effectively led his team in areas such as product design, project support, marketing, and third-party services. Dr Brian Shegar’s career covers 40 years of leadership in international banking experience
with focus on South East and South Asia, Asia Pacific and Middle East. He successfully
established and led the operations of Midland, NedBank and Emirates NBD in various
locations in the Asia Pacific region including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. Dr
Shegar’s involvement in the GCC began in 2006. He set up and ran one of the Middle East’s
largest banks, Emirates NBD, in Asia Pacific including the regional branch in Singapore and
Rep Offices in China and Jakarta.

Upon retirement from Emirates NBD in 2018, Dr Shegar established ME Asia Pte Ltd as a
consultancy to assist Singapore and Asian companies in their business development
aspirations in UAE and the Middle East. That same year, he was instrumental in establishing
the UAE Singapore Business Council to promote greater business connectivity between UAE
and Singapore where he is the Founding President. He is also a member of the Global Advisory
Board of CASS Business School (covering UAE and Singapore), Member of the Editorial
Advisory Board of the Journal of Gulf Economics, Trade and Finance and a Past Honorary
Fellow of the NUS Middle East Institute.

Dr Shegar holds a BSc Degree in Banking and International Finance and an MSc Finance from
the CASS Business School of City, University of London. He also has a Doctorate in Business
Administration from the University of Western Australia Business School. He has also
presented papers and spoken at numerous seminars and conferences.

Irene is a Corporate Tax Advisory Partner at PwC Singapore. She has over 12 years of experience in providing corporate and international tax advisory services to multinational companies with a special focus on clients in the oil and gas, chemicals, mining, and commodity trading space.

Irene has advised clients on the structuring of inbound and outbound investments and the setting up of regional trading and headquarters functions in Singapore. This involved, amongst others, developing sustainable and tax efficient holding, financing and operating structures. She has also advised clients across various sectors on realignment of tax and business operating models, business integrations and corporate structure simplifications. As a tax incentive specialist, she assists clients with incentive planning, strategy, negotiation, application and compliance as part of the design and implementation of regional structures and business models.

She is an oil and gas and commodity specialist. She manages a portfolio of clients in the oil and gas, chemicals, mining and commodity trading sectors, assisting them with their day-to-day tax matters.

From 2013 to 2015, Irene headed up the Singapore tax desk in PwC New York, providing tax advisory services to US-based MNCs.

Prior to PwC, Irene was a senior officer with International Enterprise Singapore, responsible for promoting Singapore as a global trading hub and administration of the Global Trader Programme, a tax incentive for commodity trading companies.

Irene graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Degree in Business Administration (Finance). She is an Accredited Tax Practitioner.

Ms Tan brings with her 20 years of experience in the capital markets, investor relations and risk management. Prior to joining Seatrium, she was Head of Investor Relations & Corporate Communications at Venture Corporation Limited, a Singapore-listed global provider of technology services, products and solutions. Before Venture, Ms Tan was Director of Corporate Development & Investor Relations at ARA Asset Management, one of Asia Pacific’s largest real estate manager. Ms Tan started her career at the Singapore Exchange Limited in retail marketing, investor relations and derivatives risk management.

Ms Tan holds a Master of Finance from the University of Cambridge, UK, under the Finance Scholarship Programme administered by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and a Bachelor of Business Administration (First Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore Business School.

Recently appointed as the Leader for PwC Singapore's Entrepreneurial and Private Business practice, David brings his expertise in advising owner-managed and family businesses to provide integrated business solutions that can assist family business leaders in navigating ownership and business complexities through effective governance.

Through collaborations with the Singapore Institute of Directors, Singapore Exchange, Institute of Internal Auditors, and Securities Investors Association Singapore, David contributes regularly as a speaker and also authors thought leadership pieces around governance, risks and controls.

Concurrently, David is a Chairman of PwC Singapore’s Board of Partners.

at numerous banks in Southeast Asia. Luca now leads the Asia presence for Illuminate. He
has led investments in trading, post-trade and private markets technology start-ups. Luca
holds a Masters in Management from Imperial College Business School, and trained as a
computer engineer at Imperial College London.
