Dr Pierce is a senior GCC BDI external associate and the CEO of Global Governance Services Ltd. He works with policy makers, directors and boards in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the US and South America. Previously, Dr Pierce was the Director of Professional Standards and Development at the Institute of Directors (IoD) in the UK. He has also held senior management positions in the Overseas Development Administration, British Airways and Leeds Business School. Over the last fifteen years Dr Pierce has worked as an advisor to the boards of many of the largest listed companies, banks, sovereign wealth funds, stock exchanges and financial institutions around the World. He has chaired the World Bank Corporate Governance Code Development Workshops for the Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA) on a number of occasions in Egypt and Jordan. In 2014 he was awarded the Bertin Medal in Sweden by the International Academy for Quality for his contribution to Corporate Governance worldwide over the last decade.

Ian is an independent consultant, speaker and educator specialising in strategic planning, corporate governance and international marketing. He works with directors, boards and organisations ranging from SMEs to blue-chip multinationals such as AMEC, Warner Home Video, Republic National Bank of New York, RBS/NatWest, Wrigleys and The BBC. Ian operates world-wide from his offices in the UK & France and has a broad experience of many industries, covering everything from manufacturing through to property, high fashion to high-tech.

Before starting his own consultancy, Fenway in 1985, Ian was the marketing director for Games Workshop an international leisure company, based in London. He is also an international speaker at conferences & events, works closely with the DTI on promoting and developing overseas trade and is a visiting senior lecturer for the UK Institute of Directors creating and delivering courses on both their Diploma and Masters programmes. He has just completed several strategy and brand communications projects for a £250m family-owned food group, a £1bn division of Merrill Lynch in London, the Jersey Post office and a $200m software and licensing company in Vancouver, as well as orchestrating the sale of a £30m UK company to a French multinational. He is also the creator of The Director’s Club, a forum for over 200 owner managers of small-to medium sized enterprises to gain support, networking, learning and personal development.
