Talal Al Zain is the Founder & Director of Jisr Capital. Jisr Capital is Mr. Al Zain’s holding company through which he owns and operates businesses in the region. From 2019 to 2021, he was Group Chief Executive Officer of Trust International Insurance & Reinsurance Company.

From 2012 to 2016 Talal was the CEO of Pine Bridge Investments Middle East BSC ©, and Co-Head of Alternative Investments at Pine Bridge Investments. From 2008 to 2012 he was a member of the founding board and the CEO of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, the sovereign wealth fund and investment arm for the Kingdom of Bahrain. Prior to joining Mumtalakat, Mr. Al Zain spent 18 years with Investcorp as Managing Director and Co-Head of Placement and Relationship Management. From 1985 to 1990 he was Vice President of Private Banking International and Head of Investment Banking Middle East with the Chase Manhattan Bank, Geneva. Prior to that, he was a corporate banker with Citibank Corporate Banking Division Bahrain focused on trading & manufacturing

Talal currently serves as Chairman of the Board at Dividend Gate Capital, Awal Gulf, and as a board member of KKT, a provider of non-invasive treatments for back conditions, Flooss, a micro finance provider, as well as of Bahraini fintech company Rain. He previously chaired and served as a board member for many corporations including McLaren, the Bahrain Economic Development Board, Gulf Air, the Bahrain International Circuit, Bahrain Islamic Bank, and Alubaf Arab International Bank.

Dale is a Solution Designer in Strategic Market Solutions in Diligent Corporation. He is responsible for assessing the evolving regulatory and compliance trends in EMEA and designing the go-to-market strategy for specific markets or industries. Dale has 25 years of experience in the technology sector as a senior corporate attorney, public policy, and regulatory affairs professional. He is passionate about helping organizations to implement industry-specific digital transformation objectives by assessing and managing regulatory and compliance challenges. He previously served as the HQ Lead for Microsoft Corporation’s Corporate External and Legal Affairs for the Middle East & Africa where he worked with senior management to identify and proactively manage legal, commercial and compliance issues to drive business growth and opportunities in the region. He also served as the region’s lead lawyer for industry and digital transformation and as the head of the Microsoft Digital Crimes Unit. More recently, Dale acted as a consultant and task team lead for the World Bank, leading a project focused on policy, legal and regulatory frameworks for data and AI governance. Dale holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Rhodes University in South Africa.

Andrew has over 20 years of specialist TMT experience in a sophisticated legal and regulatory environment. He is a telecoms expert and has become one of the leading specialists in the Middle East on cloud-based technology deals, including government procurement and information security requirements in regard to cloud services. Andrew frequently interacts and holds strong relationships with local federal government departments and regulators.

Andrew has advised major clients on a variety of complex contractual issues and commercial transactions, especially in connection with the launch of new platforms and services. He has assisted government departments and government-owned entities in diversification projects that invest in technological developments and improve innovation. He also provides important UAE local law advisory services to multinationals (either directly or through international law firms) in respect of their TMT sector plans in the Middle East

Andrew is a key part of our growing data protection team, advising on the extra-territorial application of GDPR, the introduction of new data protection laws and broader regional privacy and cybersecurity issues. He also has considerable experience in advising on competition law issues in the telecommunications industry, having represented both incumbent and new entrant parties in interconnection and other regulatory court related proceedings. Andrew has acted as external legal advisor to two telecommunications regulators in the region.

Prior to joining Al Tamimi & Company, Andrew was a TMT Partner at a prestigious New Zealand law firm. He moved to the UAE in late 2013 and has been recognised in Who’s Who Legal UAE for Telecoms and data since 2016.

Andrew is a contributing author to various international publications on topics such as e-commerce, software protection media, advertising and entertainment law.
