David Dew
SENIOR ADVISOR TO THE BOARD OF SABB at SABBDavid was appointed as the Managing Director of SABB (The Saudi British Bank) in May 2010 and served in this position until his retirement in May 2021. He was Senior Advisor to the SABB Board until 2021 and was also a Board member of HSBC Bank Middle East. He also served on the Board of HSBC Saudi Arabia for 12 years and has extensive international and regional experience.
David was been with the HSBC Group since 1977. Before moving to SABB, he was the Deputy Chief Executive of HSBC Amanah and Chief of Administration, Global Banking and Markets, Middle East HSBC (MENA). Prior to that David served as Chief Operating Officer for HSBC Bank USA and the Chief Auditor for HSBC North America. He has also held various senior positions with HSBC in Singapore, Italy, Oman and UAE.
David gained his first experience in Saudi Arabia when he worked as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of SABB from 2001-2004. David received his MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge in the UK and is an Associate of The Chartered Institute of Bankers. He is married with two daughters.
