Petros Florides is a governance and risk expert, a trained mediator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), an international speaker and panellist, author of several articles related to governance in the public and private sectors and has been serving on boards as a non-executive director since 2006 – including as an Independent board, and committee, Chair.

Petros was born and raised in the United Kingdom where he lived and worked for 34 years until repatriating to Cyprus in 2002. After completing his studies in Accountancy (Honours Graduate in Accountancy (BA (Hons)), he then went to on complete the Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) programme and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (Chartered FCSI). Prior to this current employment, Petros served as a finance professional within private banking, fund management, stockbroking, principal trading and private equity.

Having been employed by World Vision since 2003, Petros has worked in the areas of: global governance, local and regional finance, micro-finance, economic development and regional strategy; and is currently Senior Director of Global Governance responsible for the Europe, Middle East and Asia regions overseeing approximately 30 Boards and 300 Non-Executives. His role includes board evaluation, training & development, mentoring & coaching, and managing special projects related to governance.

Petros also have a Certificate in Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management (CIRM), a Chartered Director (C.Dir) from the IoD UK, and a Specialist qualification in Governance from the Institute of Risk Management.
